Music & Lights was founded in 1990 in a fifteen-square-metre garage, out of an idea from Franco Sorabella: seventeen years old, and a passion for entertainment technology. The company started out as a production company and system integrator, and in the 1990s began building for itself the products it needed to do its work. In 2000 it closed the event services business and focused on one thing only: designing, manufacturing and distributing. The following year, PROLIGHTS was born. We started out on the other side of the stage, and we have not forgotten it.
Today the technology we design is on international tours, in theatres, on television sets and on the façades of monuments, in more than 70 countries.
We have grown, but we remain a family business, and that changes the way work happens here: decisions are made quickly and with the long term in view, there are few layers of hierarchy, and whoever proposes a solution is usually the same person who sees it through.
Design, development, validation, logistics, marketing and technical support are all on the same site, in Minturno. You do not work on an abstract slice of a process here: you see the object take shape, you hold it in your hands, you switch it on.

We started out on the other side of the stage, rigging systems for live events. That trade teaches precision, punctuality, problem solving and creativity. And it teaches one thing before all the others: once the show starts, there is no second take. The light either works or it does not, in front of everyone, at that moment.
That way of demanding things of ourselves is what has brought us this far. It is why we aim for excellence in what we build, and why we have always raised the bar, ever since that fifteen-square-metre garage. And it is what has allowed us to grow and compete globally.
Doing extraordinary things takes talent and effort beyond the ordinary. And it takes one thing that cannot be taught: a passion for the work itself. Here, anyone who wants to do more will not find a ceiling waiting for them: extra commitment is possible, and it is recognised rather than discouraged. It is that passion which holds up the way we work - the solidity of a structured company, with the agility and spirit of a startup - where decisions are made at pace, everyone counts, and what you do is visible.
This environment is not for everyone, and that is as it should be. But if you have talent, tenacity and the determination to find out how good you can get, you will do well here.
The salary band is stated in every job advert as RAL - retribuzione annua lorda, gross annual salary in euro - together with the CCNL job classification level, and results-based bonuses (premio di risultato) are part of the offer. No vague formulas: you know what we are offering before you even come in for an interview.
We do not require a university degree or a school diploma as a binding requirement: we look at what you can do and how quickly you learn. We give applications from abroad exactly the same consideration. And for internships and training placements, we offer people relocating from far away a contribution towards the move and a share of rental costs: we want the deciding factor to be talent, not distance from home.
Structured support from an experienced mentor from day one, our in-house academy, and participation in the industry’s main international trade shows and events. When a specific skill is needed, we can bring in external training.
We spend many of our hours here, and we want it to be a welcoming place. A free company canteen with dishes prepared on site using local produce, an in-house gym, indoor and outdoor break areas, generous green space, and even a small farm with animals. And outside the gates is one of the most beautiful parts of the Mediterranean: the Gulf of Gaeta on one side, the wooded Aurunci Mountains on the other. Sea and mountains, minutes away. We also have an arrangement with a boat hire service, so you can really make the most of the coast.
Every week we have people out in the world, at trade shows, events and customer visits. For many roles, travel is part of the job, and it is one of the things that makes this work different from a lot of others. When you travel, you travel on a company card: the company pays up front, not you. Anyone who travels frequently is also covered by travel insurance. And business trips carry an additional allowance, on top of expenses.
Family days and chances to be together outside the office, because the people who work here - and the people close to them - are part of the company. Four-legged friends included.
